An Italian bistro that has become a favourite meeting point for an evening aperitivo in the city centre, with a menu by chef Dimos Samourakis. Syntagma is the heart of modern Athens, around the square facing the Parliament, where the Evzones guard the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier; Ermou, the main shopping street, and the National Garden start here, and the metro runs straight to the airport. Athenians dine late, usually from 21:00, so book ahead for weekend dinners, especially at the best-known tables.
