Greece's national museum of contemporary art, in the converted Fix brewery, with Greek and international art from the 1960s to today. Open Tuesday to Sunday, with late opening on Thursdays. Koukaki, just south of the Acropolis and Filopappou Hill, is a relaxed residential neighbourhood with good cafés and bistros on its pedestrian streets, a short walk from the Acropolis Museum. Opening hours change between summer and winter and many museums close one day a week, so check before you go.
