About Roman Agora & Tower of the Winds

Roman-era marketplace with the remarkable octagonal Tower of the Winds, an ancient clock tower with sundials, a water clock and carved wind gods. Plaka is the oldest neighbourhood of Athens, a maze of lanes and neoclassical houses below the Acropolis, with tavernas, small museums and shops; it is largely pedestrian and best explored on foot. Go early in the morning or late in the afternoon to avoid the midday heat and the crowds, and buy tickets for state sites online at hhticket.gr to skip the queue.

Opening hours, prices and seasonal openings change, so please check with Roman Agora & Tower of the Winds before you go.
