The legendary Zonar's, a meeting place for well-dressed Athenians since 1939, reborn as Athenée on luxury Voukourestiou Street: a lounge-style café for coffee, pastries and light meals on one side and a brasserie on the other. Syntagma is the heart of modern Athens, around the square facing the Parliament, where the Evzones guard the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier; Ermou, the main shopping street, and the National Garden start here, and the metro runs straight to the airport.
