A cinephile's summer cinema in Ano Petralona that shows only reissues of classic films, from Hitchcock to Fellini, at some of the lowest prices in town, with homemade walnut pie and ice cream at the canteen. Closed for the winter; reopens in spring 2027. Petralona is a down-to-earth neighbourhood on the far side of Filopappou Hill, known for its traditional tavernas and relaxed bars, a short walk from Thiseio. Athens’s open-air cinemas are a summer institution: films are shown in the original language with Greek subtitles, and you can order a drink and snacks from the bar.
