About Café Plaka
A cosy café with a fireplace in winter, a roof terrace in summer and famous pancakes, next to the much-photographed pink house. Plaka is the oldest neighbourhood of Athens, a maze of lanes and neoclassical houses below the Acropolis, with tavernas, small museums and shops; it is largely pedestrian and best explored on foot. Greek coffee culture is unhurried: order a freddo espresso or freddo cappuccino, the iced coffees Athenians drink almost all year, and linger as long as you like.
Opening hours, prices and seasonal openings change, so please check with Café Plaka before you go.
