The spa at the Electra Palace has a heated indoor pool, Jacuzzi, sauna and treatment rooms, and the hotel's rooftop pool looks straight at the Acropolis. Plaka is the oldest neighbourhood of Athens, a maze of lanes and neoclassical houses below the Acropolis, with tavernas, small museums and shops; it is largely pedestrian and best explored on foot. Book ahead, especially at weekends.
