About Lake Vouliagmeni
About ten minutes south of Glyfada, past Voula: a natural lake under a limestone cliff, fed by underground mineral springs mixing with sea water. The water stays warm all year, roughly 22–29°C, so people swim here even in winter. Sunbeds, a café and a restaurant line the shore. Vouliagmeni is the most exclusive corner of the Athens Riviera, about 20 km south of the centre, with clear water, the Astir peninsula, the mineral-water Vouliagmeni Lake and smart seafront restaurants. The coastal tram and buses connect the Riviera with the centre, and a taxi from Syntagma takes about half an hour outside rush hour.
Opening hours, prices and seasonal openings change, so please check with Lake Vouliagmeni before you go.
