Kolonaki is Athens’s most elegant neighbourhood, on the slopes of Lycabettus Hill, with designer boutiques, galleries and smart cafés around Kolonaki Square, and the Benaki Museum and the Museum of Cycladic Art close by. Shops in central Athens usually open Monday to Saturday, with longer hours on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, while many in Plaka and Monastiraki also open on Sundays.
