A cosy, much-loved Vietnamese restaurant on the edge of Plaka, near the cathedral, serving authentic home-style cooking: fragrant pho bo, fresh rolls, crispy spring rolls, noodle bowls and Vietnamese coffee. Generous portions at fair prices; open daily from noon to midnight. Plaka is the oldest neighbourhood of Athens, a maze of lanes and neoclassical houses below the Acropolis, with tavernas, small museums and shops; it is largely pedestrian and best explored on foot. Athenians dine late, usually from 21:00, so book ahead for weekend dinners, especially at the best-known tables.
