A humble taverna in a hidden courtyard, with a short menu of traditional dishes cooked over a gas stove and a lovely, old-Athens atmosphere. Psyrri, beside Monastiraki, is an old craftsmen’s quarter of narrow streets and street art, full of tavernas, bars and late-night music. Athenians dine late, usually from 21:00, so book ahead for weekend dinners, especially at the best-known tables.
