About Odeon of Herodes Atticus

The Odeon of Herodes Atticus was built in AD 161 by Herodes Atticus in memory of his wife Regilla, and was used for concerts, rhetoric competitions and lectures. It holds about 5,000 people and is one of the venues of the Athens Epidaurus Festival. Since autumn 2025 it has been closed for maintenance and restoration works, so check the official Visit Greece page before you go; its arched façade can still be seen from the Dionysiou Areopagitou walkway.
