About Klepsydra
A tiny café in upper Plaka where time seems to slow down, with outdoor tables overlooking the Roman Agora and one of the best Acropolis views from a coffee table in the city. Try the apple pie. Plaka is the oldest neighbourhood of Athens, a maze of lanes and neoclassical houses below the Acropolis, with tavernas, small museums and shops; it is largely pedestrian and best explored on foot. Greek coffee culture is unhurried: order a freddo espresso or freddo cappuccino, the iced coffees Athenians drink almost all year, and linger as long as you like.
Opening hours, prices and seasonal openings change, so please check with Klepsydra before you go.
