Chef Gikas Xenakis's modern Greek restaurant in a neoclassical house in Metaxourgeio, open since 2006, with a tasting menu and a courtyard that opens in late spring. Metaxourgeio, named after an old silk factory, is an up-and-coming neighbourhood west of Omonia with galleries, studios and new bars and restaurants. Athenians dine late, usually from 21:00, so book ahead for weekend dinners, especially at the best-known tables.
