About The Acropolis promenade
Start at the Acropolis Museum and walk west along Dionysiou Areopagitou, the wide pedestrian promenade that curls around the south slope of the Acropolis. The Theatre of Dionysus and the Odeon of Herodes Atticus sit just above you, with the Parthenon on the rock. Where the promenade meets Apostolou Pavlou, take the paths up through the pines of Philopappos Hill for the classic view back across to the Acropolis. Our advice: time the climb for the last hour of daylight, when the marble turns gold.
